MAKHACHKALA, June 12 – RIA Dagestan. A delegation from China's Shandong Institute of Petrochemical Technology has visited Dagestan State Technical University (DSTU). Rector Nazim Balamirzoev briefed the guests on the university's research activities, laboratory infrastructure and student accomplishments. The parties discussed issues related to the launch of a network-based bachelor's program in oil and gas engineering, under which students would study at both university campuses, undertake internships in Russian and Chinese laboratories, and work in international teams.
With negotiations in their final stage, the formal agreement is expected to be signed shortly, the university press service states. The collaboration will feature a dual-degree program that allows graduates to receive nationally recognized diplomas from both Russia and China.
A shared laboratory for joint scientific research was also proposed by the Chinese delegation, offering both partners direct access to one another's equipment and data. A regular student and faculty exchange is likewise under discussion, encompassing online lectures, academic consultations and jointly run distance courses.
